This course explores the works of some of the most recognized Spanish artists and architects of the twentieth century. We will begin at the turn of the century when Spain awakens to modernity. We will focus on the unique architectural work of Gaudí, some of the most international Spanish painters including Sorolla, Picasso or Dalí, and Maruja Mallo, one of the most emblematic female painters of the time. Students will also learn about great contemporary artists and their works, including Moneo, Calatrava, or Miquel Barceló.
Throughout the course, we will take virtual visits to the different museums and exhibits to enjoy in detail each of the pieces, as well as the museums or cities.
