This interdisciplinary course invites students to explore the most daring, creative, and artistic cultural movements of the late 80´s in Spain, including the world of fashion. Students will learn about the social, cultural, and political context of the time by exploring the new artistic and cultural movements of fashion, photography, film and music.
Ever since then, fashion has not only played an important role in shaping the Spanish identity and aesthetics, but it has also lifted the Spanish textile industries to amongst the top 10 in the world. Students will visit companies and learn about the different sectors of the industry. They will also perform a case study of Zara and how its success has influenced the whole Spanish fashion scene today.
