MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK: MADRID BECOMES FASHION

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is the catwalk par excellence for the author fashion in our country. A benchmark event in the industry, during one week, Madrid will become fashionable, offering various LiveStreams, Fashion talks, Fashion Lessons, exhibitions and even parades.



February is fashion month in Madrid. As every year, the capital is decorated for the industry with hundreds of events focused on the world of textile design, awaiting the culmination of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The event, which already has 77 editions this year, will come from IFEMA, throughout this month during the week of February 15 to 19 and will bring the participation of multiple brands and designers, both national and international. These will present their autumn winter collections for the years 2023/2024.




The event itself will begin the week of the 15th with its traditional day dedicated exclusively to the parades of the off program, which will be presented throughout Wednesday the 15th at different points in the community of Madrid. In addition, IFEMA will set up an exclusive space where various sponsoring brands will exhibit interactive stands, where attendees can take photos, attend workshops and talk about their favorite designers and brands. Cibelespacio, as it is called, also houses the Allianz Ego showroom, where creations by young designers whose designs are for sale are exhibited. On Thursday 16, the catwalk will begin as such in pavilion 14.1 of the IFEMA fairgrounds, where the most established designers of our country will open the program, although there will also be international participation, which will continue until Saturday 18.



Among the participating designers this year, figures such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who opened the catwalk on Thursday 16, or the already veteran, Paloma Suárez, paraded. Last Friday the 17th, Otrura was the firm in charge of launching the a catwalk, followed by Isabel Sanchís from Valencia and Hannibal Laguna, who presented a new collection. To close the day in style, L'Oreal presented its new collection "Show your worth", in order to promote its new initiative against street harassment "Stand Up for yourself", an innovative course that provides protection tools against harassment , which can be accessed online.



On Saturday the 18th, Odette Álvarez made her debut as a consecrated after having participated in several editions of the off program, followed by Fely Campo and the reincorporated to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) Madrid Maya Hansen. In the afternoon session, Custo Barcelona opened the program followed by Claro Couture and Lola Casadamunt. On Sunday, they closed the double catwalk of two of the most international Moroccan designers: Maison ARTC and Albert Oiknine with their collection "Morroco, Kingdom of Light).


On Sunday the edition closed with the delivery of the L'Oreal awards, however this does not mean the end of Mercedes Benz Week in Madrid as the fashion festival continues hand in hand with many other organizations. Madrid es Moda or ESNE or the Royal Tapestry Factory will continue to organize numerous events throughout the month, among which parades such as "Paranoia" stand out, where more than 38 young designers will participate or the exhibition "Silver Hands, Golden Heart ”, a tribute to artisan design in Spain.
