Webinar May 4th

"Humanities & Arts & ICT a Powerful Partnership for the Dissemination of Cultural Heritage: the successful case study of the CINTER project (URJC) on The Heritage of Spanish Royal Sites" is an interdisciplinary concept that integrates all documentary assets and testimonies inherited from the past. It allows for reconstructing people's everyday lives, providing a unique interpretation of history and historical sites to understand the purpose and their use today. Therefore, the understanding, preservation, and dissemination of the Cultural Heritage within the context of innovation is essential for bringing to life the history, culture, and collective memory of the past.

In this context, we share the work of the pioneering CINTER research group and project "The Heritage of The Spanish Royal Sites" that is being developed in Spain by an interdisciplinary team of scholars. This project aims to revise and explore history and society from an interdisciplinary perspective using virtual and digital technologies to reconstruct spaces, sites, and events in the past. Some of the visual tools include VR and AR, ArcGis, drone technology, or Minecraft. It also calls for introducing new narratives and communication tools, including social media and virtual platforms. This groundbreaking approach allows for the animated and visual recreation of historical sites, making them more attractive and accessible to contemporary digital audiences.

International Virtual Roundtable Discussion: “Trends, innovation and challenges in the teaching and learning of Fashion Management and Design”

Last Monday, June 29th we had the pleasure to participate in the round table discussions sponsored by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico.   The virtual session included faculty from four universities including the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Perú, Universidad La Salle Noroeste and Universidad La Salle Bajío, both in México and an audience of 100 participants from different countries.

The title “Trends, innovation and challenges in the teaching and learning of Fashion Management and Design” explores different topics including the challenge of turning to online teaching during the pandemic, innovation and creativity during confinement, future trends on the field, or the need to develop international virtual programs. More than 80 participants connected to the sessions in a lively discussion. I think that one of the highlights of this initiative is that it managed to bring together faculty, administrators, and students from different countries, including the US, Mexico, Perú, Ecuador, and Spain. Thank you, Mr. Joel E. Velez, Executive Director of the International Relations Department of the PUCPR, and thank you for your excellent team as well. From Spain, Infinite Spur wants to send a well-deserved recognition for all your work and for your leadership in this new style of building international collaborations, bringing us together in a virtual context.

We are now, ready for the next one!

Back to El Prado: Reencuentro / Reunited

A beautiful title for the reopening Exhibit of the Museo del Prado this month. Last June 6th, the Prado Museum reopened its doors to the public with a unique exhibition that will run until 13 September.  The show, which involved the relocation of more than 190 pieces of artwork, is reminiscent of the type of display that was first shown when the museum opened its doors in 1819.

Some of the museum's most important works are on display in and around the Central Gallery, an iconic space filled with natural light and large enough to easily comply with the government health& safety of the post pandemic reality. Fra Angelico, Velazquez, Rafael, Tintoretto, Bosco, El Greco, Goya, Rubens and festival of beauty all in one hall.

Maybe you will not get to see the exhibit in person this time, but you can take a look at the video and enjoy a virtual visit without waiting in line and wearing a facemask!

Spanish Language & Culture Program

We have great news to share with all students interested in improving their Spanish skills this year. We are happy to announce our new Spanish Language and Culture Hybrid Program, a great opportunity to practice your Spanish from home until you can come to visit here in Spain.  We are also thrilled to announce that Infinite Spur is now a LanguageCert approved partner.  LanguageCert USAL esPro is the only officially accredited organization approved for delivering Spanish virtual assessment tests.

Now that we have limited mobility and coming to Spain is becoming more difficult, we have decided to start a new line of Spanish Language and Culture courses.  These courses follow the same format and structure than the rest of our courses and integrate all digital technologies and virtual projects as part of the class.

All courses follow our hybrid structure that allows students to take group synchronous classes online and then, when time and conditions allow, complete the program with an immersion experience in Spain.  As part of the program, students will have the opportunity to practice their language skills through small groups virtual conversation sessions with our native Spanish teacher assistants following the C3 model.  Stay tuned for the virtual Spanish Language and Culture Program presentation and learn more about courses, the certification, the hybrid structure and the language assistant support.
